About Us
The WA branch of The Australia-Britain Society was founded in 1982. Our Patron is His Excellency, Dr Ken Michael, AC, the Governor of WA and our Vice Patron is Philip Orchard, Head of Post, British Consulate, Perth.

We hold social activities for members throughout the year. We are developing home-grown special projects, including the inaugural ‘Art Idol’ art competition which was held throughout much of 2007/2008. More information on this unique event can be found on the Special Events page.

We make sure that we are present at British events in Perth, to 'fly the flag' and to encourage new membership.

Western Australia is the largest of all the states in Australia and occupies around a third of the entire continent. It is bordered by the Indian and Southern Oceans and the Northern Territory and South Australia.

This resource rich state is one of the most abundant mineral rich regions in the world. Most of the population of Western Australia live in the south east, in and around the capital, Perth. The south west also has some well known wine regions such as Margaret River.

To the north west of the state are the rugged and remote Kimberley’s which are considered Australia’s last frontier. This majestic and unique region covers over 400,000 square kilometers and is punctuated with magnificent gorges, canyons and unique land forms, millions of years in the making.
